Due to inclement weather, all SKCTC campuses will operate remotely, Tuesday, March 17th. Courses and services will continue for students virtually.

Emergency Assistance Request

Requirements

  • Be in good standing with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher
  • Be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at SKCTC
  • Be making progress toward an academic goal
  • Have considered other possible resources (such as insurance, financial aid, or funding from community organizations)
  • Not have any outstanding debt at SKCTC at the time the request, including outstanding tuition, fees, or other bills
  • Agree to work with the Office of Institutional Advancement to write a letter to donors who support this fund and share the impact of the gift (may be done anonymously)
  • Emergency funding may be taxable and could require reporting to the IRS by the student
  • Decisions regarding assistance will be made on a case-by-case basis
  • Funds are limited up to $500, and a student may apply for no more than one per school year

Examples of Covered Expenses:

  • Sudden loss of housing
  • Essential utilities
  • Childcare
  • Emergency Medical/Dental Costs not covered by health insurance
  • Loss of essential items due to theft, fire, natural disaster
  • Safety needs (i.e. – locks changed, etc.)
  • Automotive repairs or transportation assistance

Expenses Generally Not Covered:

  • Tuition/Fees
  • Health Insurance
  • Household or furniture costs not related to damage or theft
  • Parking tickets, fines, or legal expenses
  • Costs for entertainment, recreation, non-emergency travel, or other non-essential expenses
