What are my options?
The Associate in Applied Science Degree in General Occupational & Technical Studies
provides flexible alternatives for meeting student and employer needs. This program
serves two general purposes:
Credit earned through various technical certificates can be applied toward the Associate
in Applied Science in General Occupational & Technical Studies degree. You will work
closely with an advisor to combine certificates and/or diplomas in different disciplines
for meeting employer needs for unique skill combinations for which there is no set
degree program.
As much as twenty hours of credit for experiential learning may be applied toward
degree completion. KCTCS certificate and diploma credit and acceptable credit transferred
from other colleges may also be applied to a student s program completion plan. At
least 25 percent of the approved curriculum credits must be completed at Southeast.
How does it work?
Your academic advisor helps you shape your studies by combining certificates and diplomas in different subjects. You can use your prior work experience and training to get up to 20 hours of credit toward your degree.
