What's With the ***?
Great question!
The first * is the KCTCS BuildSmart Investment for Kentucky Competitiveness fee. This
fee does not apply to Dual Credit Students.
+For students who are enrolled in online-only courses, the tuition is the same regardless
of your residency. Other fees, such as the mandatory fee and a distance learning course
fee of $20/credit hour still apply.

3 Some programs of study prepare students for work in a profession that requires licensure
to be employed in your state. The cost of obtaining licensure varies by profession

Reciprocity students are from Claiborne and Campbell Counties in Tennessee.
Lee County, Virginia students pay $256 per credit hour.

at Southeast since 1994.

Teaching Philosophy: As a first-generation college graduate, Dr. Holbrook is passionate about transforming lives and creating opportunities for students, drawing on her own experiences as a single mother and Pell Grant recipient.
Fun Fact: Dr. Holbrook is a wildlife photographer and author of two children’s books!
Background: From Clay County, Dr. Conover has been teaching at Southeast for nearly 30 years,
inspiring students to achieve success.

Teaching Philosophy: Dr. Conover emphasizes preparing students for their next steps, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to thrive after Southeast.
Fun Fact: Dr. Conover once taught a student whose parent was his mother’s student 35 years prior!
Background: A lifelong resident of Harlan County, Ms. Brock brings over 32 years of teaching
experience to Southeast.

Teaching Philosophy: Ms. Brock believes in meeting students where they are and removing barriers to learning, creating a transformative educational experience.

Background: Ms. Gordon transitioned from a 25-year counseling career to teaching social work
full-time, combining academic expertise with practical experience.

experience to her teaching.
