Nursing Admissions Scoring Sheet

This scale is designed to objectively evaluate applicants for the SKCTC Nursing Programs. Admission is based upon a 100 point system. Applicants with the highest total points will be admitted to the program. (ACT, or its equivalent OR NLN NEX but not both, only one can count, and Cumulative GPA)

scoring notes

  • Maximum possible: 100 points
  • Only one NEX or NACE score is required, but both may be considered if submitted
  • Academic points awarded only for completed courses
  • Use the highest grade earned if a course has been repeated
  • All documentation must be submitted by the application deadline for points to count

Standardized Test Scores

ACT Score or equivalent
(20 or above)

  • 28-36 = 40 pts
  • 24-27 = 35 pts
  • 21-23 = 30 pts
  • 18-20 = 25 pts
  • <18 = 0 pts

NEX NLN Score
(138 or above)

  • 138> = 40 pts
  • 120-129 = 35 pts
  • 110-119 = 30 pts
  • <100 = 0 pts

NACE Score
(LPN to RN Bridge 80 or above)

  • 85-100 = 40 pts
  • 75-84 = 35 pts
  • 65-74 = 30 pts
  • <65 = 0 pts

  • A = 2pts
  • B = 1 pt
  • C or below = 0 pts

  • 3.00 - 3.24 = 16 pts
  • 3.25 - 3.49 = 23 pts
  • 3.50 - 3.74 = 26 pts
  • 3.75 - 4.00 = 28 pts
