Second Selling to the World Expo is success
The second Selling to the World Expo --where existing and aspiring small-business
owners learn how to harness the power of the Web to sell their products and market
their businesses to statewide, national and global customers while receiving innovative
business planning assistance -- was held June 25 and 26 on the Middlesboro campus
of Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. The expo attracted participants
from across the region and was made possible by a grant provided by the Sam s Club
Shared Vision program and New York Community Trust. SKCTC teamed up with workforce,
economic development and community partners to host the two-day conclave. Partners
included the Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, Inc., Kentucky Highlands
Investment Corp., the Kentucky Small Business Development Center, Discover Downtown
Middlesboro enterprise and the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship.
The Selling to the World Expo was Beneficial to not only small businesses that may
be struggling to build an online presence, but also crafters and artisans who spend
their weekends selling items locally, noted SKCTC Vice President Dr. Vic Adams.
