Breaking News and Special Report marks launch of school year

The presentation of a special report and a Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College-themed news conference, featuring an at-a-glance strategy for the 2015-16 academic year, was held before an enthusiastic gathering August 4 in the great room of the Benham School House Inn. The event took on a TV news format as Dr. Lynn Moore, SKCTC president and assisted by Brandon Robinson, broke onto the airwaves with appropriate news about the college and its key objectives for the year. Several hundred faculty and staff attended the day-long meeting as a collection of speakers shared the podium, including Dr. Tony Newberry of Jefferson Community and Technical College, Dr. Rick Mason, Dr. Rebecca Parrott, Dr. Bishop E. Carter III, Elijah Buell, Lynn Cox, Ron Hayes and David C. Dixon. The opening day also featured an awards ceremony and the State of the College address delivered by Dr. Moore.
