Pre-game celebration marks kickoff to school year; Dr. McCall on hand for the event

The college kicked off the school year in grand style August 7 with a pregame party held at the Benham School House Inn. Southeast President and head coach Dr. Lynn Moore directed the event which marked the beginning of the school year with faculty and staff gathering for in-service sessions. Many in attendance wore SKCTC football jerseys and others wore shirts with the colors of their colleges and universities. The Southeast cheer team got things started with a rousing pep rally followed by a presentation to Dr. Michael B. McCall of a personalized jersey commemorating his 17-years of service to KCTCS. His jersey, displaying No. 16, was retired and had been framed and placed into a shadow box. McCall s No. 16 signifies the number of colleges within KCTCS. After an awards ceremony and the presentation of Dr. Moore s state of the college address, a delicious tailgate party meal of barbecue was served to over 200 in attendance.
