
Community play Higher Ground 4 hits local stage
Higher Ground 4 Foglights, a community play featuring stories and music from Harlan County, began its run Thursday with a performance at the Eastern Kentucky Social Club at Lynch. The play is being produced by the Appalachian Programs of Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College and supported by Artplace America and the local Robert E. Frazier Foundation. Here, several of the cast perform a musical number entitled 'Lights of Lynch,' while Bennie Massey and Shaylan Clark danced together during the number. Higher Ground 4 Foglights will also be performed on Sept. 28 and 29, 4 p.m., at Pine Mountain Settlement School, Oct. 12, 7 p.m. and Oct. 13, 3 p.m., at the old Evarts High School gym and at Harlan Elementary School, Oct. 19, 7 p.m., and Oct. 20, 3 p.m.(Photos by Chris Jones)
