Golf Classic attracts full field; thousands raised for scholarships

The annual Lillian Faye Simpson Golf Classic was held recently at Sleepy Hollow in Cumberland. The event generated over $7,000 for the scholarship fund of SKCTC. A full field of 13 teams competed for cash and special feat prizes and merchandise. The wining foursome, the Creech Insurance/Howard Heating team, carded a 16-under-par score to capture the title. Members of the team were Pete Cornett Sr., Pete Cornett Jr., Mike Howard and Andrew Forester. Tiffany Scott served as event director.
