2013-Scholarship Dinner | SKCTC

First Annual Scholarship Banquet held at Benham Inn

The first annual Scholarship Banquet, a night of inspiration and gratitude, was held October 29 in the great room of the Benham School House Inn with 84 students honored along with benefactors who made the various scholarships possible. College alumnae Dr. Georgenna Riley and Georgetta Riley Richardson were the keynote speakers. Susan Caldwell, vice president of institution advancement, provided remarks as did Dr. Lynn Moore, college president and Carolyn Sundy, vice president for diversity, inclusion and special programs. The Riley sisters, natives of Harlan, attended the college in the early 1970s and also participated in the Upward Bound Program. They have gone on to forge successful careers in medicine, corrections and social work. They are members of the SKCTC Hall of Fame, and in 2012 established the SKCTC William Jefferson Jennings and Geneva Stout Jennings Scholarship Fund in memory of their parents.
