What are my career choices?

Most Registered Respiratory Therapists are employed in hospitals.  Opportunities there include: acute and critical care of newborns, children, and adults; discharge planning; and even air transport.  Others work in physician offices performing pulmonary functions testing and in pulmonary rehabilitation programs to improve the lives of patients with chronic breathing problems.  We also work in sleep medicine and home health care.

Respiratory Care Program Purpose & Goals

Goals of the Respiratory Care Program are:

  • To prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).
