Whitesburg Campus Student of the Month

Raeanna Lynn Bedwell’s interest in criminal justice is rooted in service.

Driven by a desire to understand the justice system and help keep her community safe, Raeanna is pursuing her degree at Southeast’s Whitesburg Campus. She is the January Student of the Month and plans to graduate in May 2027.

One of her favorite courses so far has been Serial Killers, which she found both challenging and engaging. Her curiosity and commitment earned her a spot on the Dean’s List for Fall 2025.

Raeanna says one of her greatest sources of strength is her nephew, Carson, whose courage during cancer treatment continues to inspire her.

“He always tells me to be brave,” she said.

Organization and time management help Raeanna balance school and life, even during demanding weeks.

Looking ahead, she plans to continue her education in social work, hoping to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
