He has served in many positions while at SKCTC including training and development coordinator, associate dean of community and economic development, dean of community and economic development, and most recently, vice president and chief workforce officer. SKCTC’s Workforce Solutions division, which he oversaw for many years, is a multifaceted organization fully engaged in providing skilled workers to Southeast Kentucky, Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.  In this capacity, he developed safety and training programs with the federal government that have trained federal workers in 30 states for over 20 years, a partnership resulting in the Kentucky Safety Training Institute.

In 1989, Dr. Adams earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky where he played as a varsity defensive lineman under the leadership of head football coach Jerry Claiborne. In 1998, he received an M.Ed. from Lincoln Memorial University, and in 2011, he earned his Ph.D. from Mississippi State University.  He and Dee-Dee, his wife of 35 years, have two grown sons, Tyler and Hunter, and five grandchildren: Cam, Archer, Gatlin, Case and Fisher Kaye. Gunner, his sixth grandchild, is due in May. In his spare time, Vic enjoys hunting, fishing, college football, and working on his family farm.
