    Veterans Appreciation Day is held

    The first annual Veterans Appreciation Day and cookout was held July 1 on the Cumberland campus. The event, sponsored by Southeast Kentucky Community amp; Technical College, paid tribute to members of the armed forces and to veterans. The program was held in the theater of the Godbey Appalachian Center where SKCTC President Dr. W. Bruce Ayers spoke along with others from the college community. Afterward, attendees were treated to lunch. A similar program was also held at the campus in Middlesboro.
