Ugly Sweater Run/Walk event planned for SKCTC Cumberland

The Ugly Sweater Run/Walk event will be held Thursday, Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m. on the Cumberland campus of Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College.

The run/walk competition will be presented exclusively on the campus as participants have the option of running two miles or walking one mile. The entry fee is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Event organizer Kristen Simpson has asked that participants wear their most gaudy holiday sweater. Following the run/walk, a contest will be held to determine the ugliest sweater.

The fee for the contest is $5, with the pot to be divided between the overall winner, with the other half of the proceeds going to a fund to support needy individuals who desire to take the GED examination.

Following the run/walk, hot cocoa will be served and holiday music will be presented. The reception will be held on the glass-enclosed portico of Falkenstine Hall.
