
Southeast Scholarship Golf Classic set for June 4
The 24th annual Southeast Scholarship Golf Classic, an event that generates funds for scholarships to be awarded to disadvantaged and deserving students who attend SKCTC, will be held Saturday, June 4 beginning at 9 a.m. at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course at Cumberland.
The four-player, best-ball scramble event is priced at $65 per player or $250 for a team.
The entry fee includes green fee and lunch and the chance to win several special feat prizes including entry into the putting contest, closest to the pin, longest drive, straightest drive and closest second shot competitions. The winning foursome will pocket a cash prize of $600 while the second-place finishers will take home $400. A third-place finish in the 18-hole event is worth $200.
As in past classics, Creech Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac Inc. of Harlan will provide a 2011 Pontiac to the first golfer who can sink a hole-in-one on the par-three eighth hole.
