
Southeast is sponsor for Harlan County Science Fair
Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College hosted the Harlan County Science Fair for fifth grade students. The event was held March 27 on the Harlan campus and was directed by SKCTC Professor Rhonda Creech who leads the colleges Natural Science and Mathematics Division. She noted that the mission of the fair was to expand educational opportunities related to STEM, science, technology and engineering and mathematics, for all fifth grade students in the colleges service area of Harlan, Bell and Letcher counties by providing yearly competitions that support, encourage and recognize student excellence and engineering research. She noted that the future goal is to expand the competition to include all middle school students inside the service area.
