SKCTC-HCTC Radiography Program receives eight-year accreditation
The Radiography Program sponsored jointly by Hazard Community amp; Technical College and Southeast Kentucky Community amp; Technical College recently received official notice of its accreditation for eight years. The approval comes following an April visit by an evaluation team from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) which found no deficiencies in the program.
Professor Homer Terry, the programs coordinator, said the evaluation involved much scrutiny of the program, covering what was taught, how it was taught, the clinical experiences offered, the equipment and building facilities. The expression fine tooth comb seems like an understatement, Terry said. We offer a top-notch program, and we are committed to providing the very best educational experience for the students. Ive always known that to be the case and now the seal of approval handed downed by JRCERT validates it.
Terry praised the work of fellow faculty members Astor Halcomb and Tim Whittaker for their high level of excellence in teaching, along with part-time faculty members Paula Combs and Joe Caldwell. These faculty members always go above and beyond the call of duty, and I thank them for their work, Terry said. The clinical facilities are state of the art and our instructors are exemplary and should be commended for the vital roles they play within this educational process.
Southeast President Dr. W. Bruce Ayers applauded the programs faculty for their success. Thank you for your tireless efforts in making the program one of the very best anywhere.
