Middlesborough Little Theatre actors recognized at state event

Middlesborough Little Theatre standouts Hilarie Spangler and Clayton Baker won outstanding performance awards at the recent Kentucky Theater Associations conclave held at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. They were directed by Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College faculty member Amelia Simpson who recently directed them on the local stage in The Miracle Worker.

Clayton played Capt. James Keller and Hilarie portrayed Annie Sullivan. Pictured also (center) is Jeannane Baker, who played Kate Keller. Other cast members and support personnel included Professor Robert Cox, Judy Cox and Stephanie Gibson.

At the KTA event, the actors performed an edited version of William Gibsons The Miracle Worker.

According to Ms. Simpson, Middlesborough Little Theatre performances during the fall attracted over 1,300 patrons to its four performances.
