
LOCAL SBDC TO HOST LETS PUT MIDDLESBORO ON THE MAP WORKSHOP TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES SUCCEED ON THE INTERNET
CUMBERLAND, Ky. The Southeast Kentucky Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is helping small businesses grow their presence online with a Lets Put Middlesboro on the Map workshop, which will feature a lesson about how to build and maintain websites that will work for your business.The workshop will be held from 10 until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4th in Room 235 in the Troy Welch Applied Science Building on the Middlesboro campus of Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKCTC). An open house of the Small Business Development Center, also located on the Middlesboro campus, will follow the workshop at noon.
Lets Put Middlesboro on the Map is part of Googles Get Your Business Online program and aims to bring community members, business owners and civic leaders together to help small businesses succeed on the web.
With small businesses growing rapidly in this area, this workshop will provide much needed information to help business owners market their products in the ever expanding online market. Sam Coleman, the Director of the Southeast Kentucky Small Business Development Center, said. With the resources of Google behind us, we will be able to showcase what works and how startups and current businesses can utilize it to make sure they dont get left behind when it comes to the internet.
4 out of 5 consumers use search engines to find local information nearby, yet only 37% of businesses have claimed their listing on a search engine. Soo Young-Kim, the Head of Small Business Engagement at Google, said. Small businesses are the engine of local economies and when they flourish, their communities do as well.
Lets Put Middlesboro on the Map is a program designed to empower communities to support their local businesses and encourage them to get on the map. The workshop is a Google presentation hosted by the Southeast Kentucky Small Business Development Center.
