Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) President Jay Box as part
of his statewide listening tour recently visited Southeast Kentucky Community and
Technical College. Here, he is shown speaking to students in a mathematics class.
During the visit, Box made appearances on the Cumberland and Middlesboro campuses
meeting with students, faculty, staff, community partners and the colleges board of
directors to get their ideas on how Southeast can better serve its communities. That
feedback will be used to create and implement KCTCSs upcoming strategic plan. This
is a conversation. We are listening and we are beginning at the college level first
rather than starting at the top and pushing ideas down to the colleges, said Box.
We want to know what students, faculty, staff and the community leaders envision for
Southeast and the communities it serves in the next five to seven years.
