Kacey Lefevers is crowned Miss Southeast

The Miss Southeast Pageant was held Feb. 7 in the auditorium of Letcher County Central High School in Whitesburg with nine students contending for the title. Participants were judged on their composure, talent, an on-stage question and answer and an interview with the judges. Billed as an evening of splendor, entertainment and beauty, the winner received a $1,000 one-semester scholarship to attend Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College and will represent the college at the Mountain Laurel Festival that is held each May in Pineville. The winner of the 2015 pageant was Kacey Mariah Lefevers of Middlesboro. The first runner-up was Emily Brooke Landis of Harlan and second runner-up was Christie Nicole Banks of Whitesburg. Ms. Lefevers also won the talent award with Ms. Banks winning Miss Congeniality. Pictured, from left to right: Carlton W.
