Hughes attends Christian writers conference

Carlton W. Hughes, professor of communication at the Southeast Kentucky Community amp; Technical College Cumberland campus, recently participated in the 13th annual Kentucky Christian Writers Conference at Northside Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.

Hughes was a member of the steering committee, serving as publicity chair. He promoted the conference through press releases, multimedia announcements, fliers and web communication. He designed promotional publications for this years conference and the initial promotional materials for the 2010 event.

For the first time, Hughes was also a faculty member at the conference, teaching a workshop entitled Writing for Your Childrens Ministry. In addition to his duties at SKCTC, Hughes is also the childrens pastor at Lynch Church of God and has written numerous works including full-length plays, skits and curriculum. He shared his experiences and advice in two sessions at KCWC.

KCWC is a non-denominational conference for writers at all skill levels and features workshops on a variety of topics, including fiction, non-fiction, devotionals, article writing and works for children.
