    Congressman Harold "Hal" Rogers visited many areas in the Tri-Cities recently.

    A ribbon cutting ceremony at the Southeastern Kentucky Rehabilitation Industries, Inc., (SEKRI) Cumberland manufacturing facility Thursday recognized the non-profit organization's recent commitment to expansion and job creation made possible through a low-interest loan funded by Southeast Kentucky Economic Development (SKED)

    During his visit to the area Thursday, US Congressman Harold "Hal" Rogers toured Portal 31 at Lynch. Before taking the 30-minutes underground tour, he took time to view a display containing the history of Lynch and its development 93 years ago. Directing the tour was Dr. W. Bruce Ayers.     Congressman Hal Rogers opens bridge.
    Alice Hazen, widow of FN "Nicey' Hazen, along with Congressman Harold "Hal" Rogers cut the ribbon Thursday afternoon to "officially" open the Hazen Bridge leading to Billips Avenue in Cumberland. The structure replaces a dilapidated span which crosses a section of the Poor Fork of the Cumberland River. Also participating in the ceremony were State Representative Leslie Combs, State Senator Brandon Smith, Cumberland Mayor Loretta Cornett and US Army Corps of Engineers commander for the Nashville District, Lt.
