College to host 50th anniversary celebration at Harlan campus
An event to celebrate 50th years of service to the region by Southeast Kentucky Community amp; Technical College will be held Thursday, April 14 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the SKCTC Harlan campus. Campus tours, displays and exhibits of various college programs and projects will be showcased.
At 11 oclock, a program will be held in the theater, located in building one, room 119, to dedicate the facility in honor of Cawood and Helen Smith.
Mr. Smith, who is deceased, was a prominent attorney in the area and his widow, Helen, served for many years on the SKCTC Board of Directors. She currently serves on the Southeast Education Foundation Board of Directors.
