Candidates asked to support colleges golf tourney
Candidates running in the spring primary election are invited to advertise while also supporting the 20th annual Southeast Scholarship Golf Classic to be held Saturday, May 15 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course at Cumberland.
According to Rhonda Creech, event coordinator, politicians will have the chance to promote their candicacy during the event which will take place three days prior to the election.
Creech explained that candidates yard signs can be placed along various greens across the course at a cost of $50 per sign. Additionally, signs can be affixed to golf carts for a fee of $25 per sign. Proceeds will go to the Southeast Scholarship Foundation enabling deserving students to attend SKCTC.
Last spring, a total of 110 golfers participated in the classic generating several thousand dollars for scholarships.
