Delegates

The inauguration of a college president is a celebration not only of that institution but of the entire academic community. SKCTC welcomes delegates to participate in the academic processional of the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony. Delegates are members of the faculty or administration or an individual appointed to represent an academic institution or learned society. 

This historic occasion on Friday, November 21, 2025, will bring together colleagues and friends from across higher education and government, and your presence in the academic procession would be a meaningful part of this celebration.

Line-Up By: 12:45 p.m. (Ceremony begins promptly at 1:30 p.m.)

Inaugural Reception

Immediately following the ceremony, all delegates and guests are invited to the Inaugural Reception in the Stagnolia Gallery in the Godbey Appalachian Center.

Academic Attire

Delegates are encouraged to wear full academic regalia and to bring their own robe and hood, as regalia will not be provided. While academic attire is preferred, please know it is not required to participate in the procession.

Parking

Reserved parking will be available. Signage and attendants will be on site to direct and assist you upon arrival.

Cumberland, KY 40823 is located in Harlan County in the southeast corner of Kentucky, near Virginia and Tennessee. There are many places named Cumberland throughout Appalachia, so please use our address: 700 College Road, Cumberland, KY 40823.

  • From Bowling Green: 4 hours
  • From Pikeville: 1.5 hours
  • From Johnson City, TN: 2 hours
