Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College offers over 50 academic programs leading to short-term certificates and diplomas or two-year degrees.
Students from Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College recently participated in the Appalachian Teaching Project made possible by funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission. Twenty-two SKCTC students travelled to Washington, D.C. to make presentations during the annual ATP Conference.
In this talk/demonstration, Bullock explores the connections between African-American and Appalachian music. Beginning with the African musical heritage, she moves to the United States, revealing the origins of African American folk songs, spirituals, work songs, and blues and their substantial influence on Appalachian culture.
The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) has launched a statewide advocacy campaign to encourage citizens, students and faculty, business leaders and policymakers to recognize and support KCTCS as Kentucky’s engine of opportunity.
