Kentucky Coal Museum to host Festival of Arts on July 12

The one-day event will feature a wide range of local artists, crafters, writers and musicians showcasing and selling their work. Visitors can enjoy live demonstrations and shop for handmade goods all while exploring the museum’s rich exhibits on Appalachian and coal mining heritage.



Admission is $4 per person for the day. Vendor space is free, but participants must bring their own tables and chairs.

Confirmed vendors include:

  • MaryJo Obradovich – Quilting demonstration and quilted items for sale
  • Shayla Whitaker – Homemade candles and art
  • Rebecca Fields – Pens, keychains, tumblers, and Pink Zebra products
  • Phyllis Branham – Homemade candies and treats
  • Diana Cornett – Crafts
  • Angie Dose – Homemade teas

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to support local talent while experiencing the arts in a unique setting,” said Kentucky Coal Museum Curator Amanda Hughes. “We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the day with us.”

The Kentucky Coal Museum is located at 231 Main Street in Benham, Kentucky.
