2025 Students of the Month

Billy Ray
Billy Ray, a Recovery Coach student, overcame addiction and now helps others in recovery. Excelling in SKCTC’s online program, he says, “You can do it. Whatever chapter you’re in, Southeast will help—you just have to start.”

Gavin
Gavin, a nursing student, follows in his mother’s footsteps while balancing school and work. Passionate about health care, he plans to work at Whitesburg ARH and advises, “Attend all your classes and don’t fall behind.”

Lauren
A dual credit student, Lauren juggles high school, sports, and college coursework. Through the Educator Prep program, she discovered her passion for teaching, saying, “I wouldn’t have found my calling without this program.”

Michael
Michael, a Respiratory Therapy student, balances studies and family while working toward graduation. Inspired by his daughters, he stays motivated and advises, “Never be afraid to chase a dream—we can all achieve what we set our minds to.”

Olivia
A pre-pharmacy student, Olivia balances coursework and a part-time pharmacy job while preparing for pharmacy school. Involved in the Academic Advantage Program, she encourages others: “Don’t let obstacles become barriers—you can achieve anything.”

Alyssa
Alyssa is in SKCTC’s respiratory therapist program. Inspired by her grandfather and her desire to help others, she has earned multiple certifications and plans to specialize in critical care.

Brandi
Brandi, a single mother of three, is pursuing her Associate in Science degree at SKCTC to become a trauma nurse. Balancing school, family, and student government, she inspires others with her determination.

Emily
Emily, a surgical technology student at SKCTC, is inspired by her mom to pursue her dream of becoming a surgical technologist. Organized and driven, she plans to specialize in cardiac surgeries at a trauma center.

Ricky
Ricky, a student in SKCTC’s criminal justice program, has over seven years of experience with the Kentucky Department of Corrections. He aims to advance his career, eventually becoming a warden.

Andrew
Andrew, pursuing an associate of science degree at SKCTC, is inspired by history and the lessons it offers. He is an active student leader and plans to pursue a career in aviation or law enforcement after graduation.
