Lilly Caballero Elected to Represent Students on SKCTC College Advisory Council

CUMBERLAND, Ky. – Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College (SKCTC) is pleased to announce that Lilly Caballero of Bledsoe, Kentucky, has been elected by her fellow students to serve as the student representative on the College Advisory Council. Caballero will serve alongside council members appointed by KCTCS President Dr. Ryan Quarles, bringing the student perspective to discussions that help guide the future of the college.

 

The College Advisory Council provides valuable input and guidance to support the mission of SKCTC and serves as a vital connection between the college and the communities it serves. Council members represent the interests of students, employees, and stakeholders while helping advance initiatives that strengthen educational opportunities throughout the region.

 

Caballero was elected through the college's recent Advisory Council election process and will join fellow council members in supporting the continued growth and success of SKCTC. The student representative is selected through a vote of the student body. Caballero was chosen by her peers to serve as their voice on the council and will work alongside appointed members to help shape the future of the college.

 

As the student representative, Caballero will help ensure student perspectives are included in discussions that impact the college and the communities it serves. The position provides an opportunity to develop leadership skills, collaborate with college and community leaders, and advocate for the needs and interests of fellow students.

As a Nursing student at SKCTC's Cumberland Campus, Caballero, a native of Bledsoe, Kentucky, has a strong connection to both her education and her community. She chose to attend the college because it allowed her to remain close to home, continue raising her three-year-old daughter, and pursue her goal of becoming a nurse. She credits the college's accessibility, affordability, and supportive environment for helping her pursue a meaningful career while remaining active in the community she calls home.

Caballero's election reflects SKCTC's commitment to ensuring student voices are represented in decisions that impact the future of the college and the region it serves.
