SKCTC Seeking Student Representative for College Advisory Council

The student representative serves as the voice of SKCTC students and helps ensure student perspectives are included in discussions that shape the future of the college. The position provides an opportunity for students to develop leadership skills, work alongside college and community leaders, and advocate for their fellow students.

“This is an exciting opportunity for students to make a meaningful impact at Southeast,” said Dr. Rebecca Johnson, vice chancellor of student affairs. “We want students who are passionate about leadership, student success, and helping strengthen the college experience for their peers.”

To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled at SKCTC, enrolled in at least 12 credit hours, and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Students interested in seeking election as the student representative must submit a nomination form by Sept. 8, 2026. Following the nomination period, eligible candidates will appear on a student election ballot. One student will be elected to serve on the College Advisory Council during the academic year and help communicate student perspectives and ideas to college leadership.

The elected representative will work alongside college and community leaders while representing students from across Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College's campuses.
