Published on May 14, 2026
Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College is encouraging students across the region to explore flexible and affordable summer course options designed to help them stay on track, get ahead, return to school, or prepare for a new career opportunity.
Summer classes are available in online, hybrid, and in-person formats, giving students multiple options to fit college into busy work and family schedules.
Summer session dates include:
- First 6-week session: May 18 – June 28
- 8-week session: June 1 – July 26
- Second 6-week session: June 29 – August 9
College officials say summer can be an ideal time for a variety of students, including
recent high school graduates, students home from four-year universities, working adults,
and individuals interested in workforce or technical training programs.
“Summer can be a great opportunity for students to continue moving toward their goals in a way that fits their lives,” said Dr. Lee Harrison, president and CEO of Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College. “Whether someone wants to earn transfer credits, begin workforce training, return to school after time away, or simply explore new opportunities, Southeast offers flexible pathways designed to meet students where they are and help prepare them for where they want to go.”
Many summer classes transfer easily to four-year institutions, creating affordable options for students returning home during the summer months. Southeast also offers workforce-focused programs in high-demand career fields including healthcare, skilled trades, CDL, technical education, and business and industry training.
The college is also encouraging students who have applied but not yet registered for summer classes to connect with advisors and enrollment staff for assistance.
In addition to summer enrollment opportunities, Southeast will host orientation and enrollment support opportunities across its campuses throughout the summer to help students register for classes, meet faculty and staff, and prepare for the upcoming semester. Freshman orientation sessions will begin June 24 across Southeast campuses.
As part of the college’s summer enrollment efforts, Southeast is also highlighting student success stories, workforce opportunities, transfer pathways, and employer partnerships connected to programs across the region.
