Dr Erin ReasorSoutheast Kentucky Community & Technical College has announced two leadership updates, naming Dr. Erin Reasor as acting chief academic officer and Ryland Pope as dean of strategic initiatives and planning.

Reasor will serve as acting chief academic officer while the college conducts a search for a permanent CAO. This change follows the resignation of Dr. Kevin Lambert, who has returned to the classroom as a professor of information technology, business administration and economics following eight years in academic administration.

Reasor will oversee Academic Affairs while continuing her role as dean of healthcare and technical programs. She has taught in the classroom and held academic leadership positions in the Academic Support Center, Developmental Education and Institutional Research.

“Dr. Reasor brings a deep understanding of our instructional mission and a strong track record of supporting faculty and students,” said SKCTC President Dr. Lee Harrison.Ryland Pope

Ryland Pope has been named dean of strategic initiatives and planning, guiding major projects and the college’s strategic plan.

Pope’s new role as dean of strategic initiatives and planning will focus on guiding the college’s strategic plan and leading major projects in collaboration with the leadership team.

“Our future success depends on building on what we do well today while ensuring we grow and strengthen our work strategically and operationally,” Harrison said. “This role is designed to help us deliver on the opportunities ahead."

Pope has served on the SKCTC faculty and been involved in several administrative initiatives in recent years, including co-leading the college’s SACSCOC reaffirmation process.

The college will conduct a national search for a permanent chief academic officer this spring in accordance with KCTCS policies and procedures.
