SKCTC reports fall enrollment growth
Published on Nov 7, 2025
Enrollment for the Fall 2025 semester at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College has increased by 3.6%, marking a significant
milestone as the college returns to pre-pandemic levels. The headcount stands at 3,494
students — 123 more than last year.
This growth comes at a time when many colleges nationwide are experiencing enrollment declines. SKCTC attributes its success to a steadfast commitment to accessibility
and affordability, ensuring that higher education remains within reach for students
across the region.
“Our mission is to enhance student lives and strengthen communities,” said Dr. Lee
Harrison, president of SKCTC. “This enrollment increase reflects the trust our students and region place in us to provide opportunities
that are both affordable and impactful. We remain dedicated to meeting the needs of
our region and preparing students for success in a rapidly changing workforce.”
Southeast offers a wide range of technical and academic programs tailored to meet the region’s
evolving workforce needs. Students benefit from flexible course options, including
5-, 8-, 12- and 16-week classes each semester, making it easier to balance education
with work and family responsibilities.
The college continues to expand its workforce partnerships, collaborating with local
industries to deliver training and credentials that support economic growth. In addition,
SKCTC is actively identifying new and expanded programs to ensure its offerings remain
relevant and responsive to community needs.
