SKCTC opens spring enrollment with flexible online options

As the new year approaches, students across the region are preparing for the next step in their educational journey. Spring classes at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College begin Monday, Jan. 13, offering flexible options to help students achieve their goals.

For students like first-generation college graduate Emily Sergent, SKCTC was the key to unlocking her future. Sergent earned her associate in science degree entirely online at SKCTC and is now pursuing her doctor of pharmacy degree at South College of Pharmacy in Knoxville, Tennessee.

"Distance has not made any difference in the care and compassion I’ve received from my instructors," said Sergent. "I can call, email—whatever I need, I know someone is there regardless of where I’m at."

She highlights the affordability and flexibility of SKCTC’s programs as pivotal in her success. Graduating nearly debt-free, she balanced her education with part-time and full-time work, proving that online learning at SKCTC can fit into any schedule.

SKCTC’s online courses are ideal for students managing work, family, or other responsibilities. The programs offer the flexibility to study from anywhere while maintaining access to the personalized support and quality instruction that SKCTC is known for.

“At Southeast, we strive to meet students where they are,” said Dr. Patsy Jackson, interim president and CEO of SKCTC. “Whether you’re taking your first step toward a new career or preparing to transfer to a four-year program, our flexible options, including online learning, ensure that everyone has a pathway to success.”
