Message from the President - 9/18/2020

Dear Southeast Family and Friends,

True to our name, Southeast is the community’s college, and we are proud to serve our communities in Southeastern Kentucky, especially during these uncertain times. Right now, we understand that a large number of our students have jobs in addition to children who are learning from home. That is why we provide so many scheduling options.

We offer a full spectrum of classes online. Still others are in-person with hybrid options, giving students a little bit of both formats. Those classes that do meet face-to-face—particularly our technical and health care labs—strictly adhere to our #HealthyAtSoutheast guidelines, requiring masks and social distancing for faculty, staff, and students. Our Maintenance and Operations staff disinfects our offices, classrooms, and doorways daily, and we provide hand sanitizer and masks in each of our buildings.

We have also expanded our fall schedule to include three 5-week terms, two 8-week terms, a 12-week term, and continuously enrolling learn-on-demand classes, giving our students the ability to register for classes until the end of October. It’s still not too late to register for fall classes!

As everyone else, all of us at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College are adjusting to the “new normal.” However, not even a global pandemic can keep us from doing what we do best: putting our students first.

Stay safe and healthy!
