Southeast’s Carlton Hughes Joins Kentucky Christian Writers Conference Executive Board

Cumberland, KY — The Executive Board of the Kentucky Christian Writers Conference, an annual gathering of faith-based writers throughout Kentucky and surrounding states, is pleased to announce the addition of Carlton W. Hughes to the Executive Board.

He is a familiar face to past attendees; Hughes has served as the event emcee and as a faculty member for many years and brings with him a wealth of experience to the Board. Most recently he has served as blog administrator for the group.

A native of southeastern Kentucky, Hughes is a long-time Communications Professor for Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. Both a speaker and freelance writer, Hughes is co-author of the parenting devotional, Adventures in Fatherhood, published by Ellie Claire Gifts, a division of Hachette Publishing, in early 2020. A member of the Lynch Church of God for the past 22 years, Hughes has been bringing colorful characters to life through his work as the Children’s Pastor for the last 19 years, and serves as a “surrogate father” to those in need of a positive male influence. He and his wife Kathy are the proud parents of two grown sons and one daughter-in-law.

The Kentucky Christian Writers Conference is hosted every June in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. This three-day conference connects writers at every stage of the publishing process with practical, real-time opportunities to grown, learn, and network with other publishing professionals.
