Message from the President - 6/25/2021

Dear Southeast Family,

I hope everyone has been staying safe and healthy while enjoying the beautiful weather with loved ones. As we continue to navigate our new normal, I want to update you on the latest developments as they unfold.

As an institution, we will continue to follow reopening guidelines developed by KCTCS in cooperation with CPE, state health agencies, and the Governor’s office. We anticipate entering Phase 3 of our reopening plan next week, July 1. You can expect a detailed reopening plan that will be posted to our website in the next several days.

I am working closely with the cabinet to gradually bring back more staff to our campuses so that we can serve our students in-person to the best of our ability. This fall, we are offering a full spectrum of face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes. However, we are behind in our fall enrollment in comparison to this time last year. Please urge our students to preregister. Since class sizes will be reduced in order to comply with social distancing measurers, early registration is the best way to ensure that they will have a seat in the classes they need.

Please reassure our students that keeping them healthy at school is our top priority. We are working hard to sanitize our public areas and enforce social distancing practices. The health and safety of our students, our employees, and our communities are among our first priorities. As always, we will continue to put #SKCTCStudentsFirst.
