Message from the President - 4/9/2020

Dear Southeast Family,

I applaud each and every one of you for adapting to our new and unprecedented circumstances and continuing to stay the course. I realize that many students are not accustomed to remote learning, just as many of our faculty are not used to teaching in this format. For our staff, delivering student services remotely is uncharted territory. I continue to be amazed at your resilience and your positive attitudes.

That said, I want to remind all of you to communicate as often as possible and to support each other. For many of us, this is a chaotic time, trying to work or study from home while homeschooling our kids. For others of us, this is a lonely time. Being healthy at home might mean that our loved ones must stay away in order to protect us as well as themselves.

We are fortunate to have the technology that allows us to keep in touch, whether it be FaceTime, Zoom, Skype, or some other means. But I know that this is no substitute for face-to-face contact. This is no substitute for a hug. Reach out to others when you need someone to listen, and continue to be there for each other.

Remember that these conditions are temporary, and although they are hard, we will get through them—together. Thank you again for all that you do.
