Recent graduates from industrial maintenance technology and six other programs are Going Pro by signing on for a new career with a local manufacturer.
On the SKCTC Harlan Campus, seven students and five employers will participate in our local signing event. Companies include Combs Equipment (Pineville), Solid Steel Solutions and RT Welding & Fabrication (Harlan), Comfort Solution Heating & Cooling (Barbourville), and Hollis Industries (Corbin).
Thousands of open positions are available in advanced manufacturing, and employers are having difficulty filling these jobs because of a lack of trained workers.
KCTCS is the primary provider of manufacturing training in Kentucky and is the solution to the state’s workforce shortage.
KCTCS has more than 300 advanced manufacturing partners statewide.
Manufacturing is a substantial part of Kentucky’s economy.
- 250,000 jobs
- 4,500 manufacturing facilities
- 3rd in US auto production
- $29.2 billion Kentucky-made exports
