SKCTC Announces Southeast Golf Scramble for Students

Published on Mar 19, 2018

Middlesboro, Ky. –  Spring is the time of year to tee up for a good cause!  Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKCTC) announces the first annual Southeast Golf Scramble for Students hosted by the Southeast Education Foundation on Saturday, April 13 at the Middlesboro Country Club.

A four-player scramble, the event has an entry fee of $300 per team, including green fees, use of cart, an event T-shirt, and lunch. Golfers may choose tee times at 8:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. Registration for each will be at 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., respectively.

The first place team will win a cash prize of $600, with second winning $400, and prizes will be awarded for third place, closest to the pin, and longest drive.

Vice President of Institutional Advancement Dr. Michelle Dykes-Anderson noted that the Scramble is a great opportunity to enjoy a day of competition while benefiting Southeast students. “Challenging economic times have placed a hardship on many students,” she says. “Now more than ever, a college or technical degree is necessary for securing a good paying job.”

Space is limited to 18 teams— nine per flight—and slots will fill quickly. To register, contact Patty Sokolowski, 606-589-3164 or email Patty.Sokolowski@kctcs.edu.

Proceeds from the tournament support student scholarships and Foundation operations.
