SKCTC Nursing and Funeral Service students gain important emergency experience in Mock Disaster

Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College staged its annual mock disaster drill April 23 at the Harlan campus with students and area first responders participating in the exercise. SKCTC nursing and funeral service students gained experience as did first responders, including police detachments and firefighting units from across Harlan County. Personnel reacted to a tornado strike and chemical fire scenario that had devastated the administration building. Students also served as victims. The event was led by faculty Scott Blanton and Dr. Ramon Cuellar.
