MLT presents "Inspecting Carol" Directed by Southeast Associate Professor Amy Simpson
Middlesborough Little Theater in conjunction with Southeast Kentucky Community amp;
Technical College will present the holiday play Inspecting Carol -- a comedy directed
by Amy Simpson.
The play, written by Daniel Sullivan, will be presented at the Bell Theater in Pineville on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 2,3,4 and December 9,10, 11. The Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. A dinner theater option will be offered on Saturday, December 10 and dinner reservations should be made in advance through the Bell Theater staff, however the public can attend the December 10 show without the dinner option.
The work focuses on a case of mistaken identity leading the members of a bumbling community theater group to try to impress the wrong person, and in the process, the real inspector gets the surprise of her life.
Simpson, SKCTC associate professor of English, became director of the MLT last summer. She has extensive experience in writing, acting and directing. Inspecting Carol follows Simpsons success in The Magic Man, a local history play which she wrote and directed.
Admission is $8 for adults with a $5 admission charge for senior citizens and students of any age (through college). The dinner theater is priced at $25 for both the meal and admission to the show.
Cast members, some of whom are affiliated with SKCTC as students or staff, include: Celeste Williams, David Austin Widener, Radwa Martin, Joe Nagle, Angela Bolt Hall, Mia Yi, John Bradley, Tristin Kyle, Keith Nagle, Olivia Roberts, Robert Cox and Jennifer Nagle. The production staff for Inspecting Carol is Judy Cox, Robin Swisher, Cheryl Black, Mike Crockett and Darron Nichols.
Because there is occasional colorful language and some adult situations, the play is not recommended for small children.
