At SKCTC, we have a deep commitment to global awareness and are dedicated each year, if possible, to welcome several international students to our college. As an international student, you’ll find that our college provide the ideal atmosphere for beginning studies in the United States. With a wide selection of quality instruction and low tuition rates, SKCTC will provide you with superior academic opportunities and a truly one-of-a-kind life experience. In addition to the general admission requirements, every non-resident international applicant whose native language is not English is required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) before being approved for admission. A score of 500 or higher on written or 173 or higher on computerized test on the TOEFL, or an average score of 81 or higher in English Language Skills on the Michigan Test is required for admission, provided that either is attained within the 18 months previous to the first day of classes of the semester for which the applicant is applying. The results of the American College Test (ACT) or COMPASS must also be submitted.
The Test of English as a International Language (TOEFL) is offered by the Educational Testing Service. Write to them at ETS, Princeton, New Jersey, 98540, USA. The Michigan Test is available at many institutions in the United States. The ACT is given in a number of countries and is administered on five test dates during the year in the United States. The COMPASS and ASSET may be administered by the local college.
Non-resident international students must also show proof that they have their own health insurance that is payable in the United States.
To make your application process as simple as possible, our college has created a checklist that outlines the process required for admission, such as obtaining a visa and providing proof of health insurance.
