Professional Development In-Service is Success

The Professional Development In-Service event for Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College was held recently as faculty and staff assembled to officially kick off the academic year. The event began with a general session, awards ceremony and breakfast at the Benham School House Inn, followed by Dr. W. Bruce Ayers delivering his State of the College Address. Various workshops were offered in order to serve and to enlighten attendees in their preparations for the academic year. The second day of the in-service convocation featured a presentation by Dr. Roger Cleveland, a Middlesboro native, who delivered a message on cultural discontinuity and ways to improve and open various lines of communications between students and the institution. The event drew to a close August 4 with a presentation by Nicole McDonald of KCTCS; she spoke about the various opportunities afforded students in the numerous 2 +2 programs.
